Coming into this week I knew snow was predicted for Tuesday evening, but honestly I wasn't expecting much. Maybe a few flurries, maybe a delay start for school on Wednesday (and a day off if it was really icy). What a surprise and blessing when we received several inches of snow! It started coming down on my way home from work and did not let up until the wee hours of Wednesday morning. I love the snow! I really do wish we got a bit more here in Hampton Roads, but its scarcity makes it more special when it does come. Due to the road conditions we actually got two days off of school. I've been enjoying the opportunity to get some rest and get caught up on some things such as grading and neatening up my room. I'm expecting to go back to work tomorrow to hear the kids full of excitement and stories of playing in the snow!

"Neatening?" Is that a new teacher invented word? ;) I completely understand, though, about the desire for more snow, but then it would lose our delight in its occurrence.
